Hello everyone. I just wanted to share a heart-touching story about Murphy, one of our regular dog walks, and her love for her "mom". Tonight I had my 9:00 walk with Murphy. When I got there Murphy was in her cage and the house was dark. I figured that her mom had gone to bed and put Murphy in the cage. I took Murphy out for our walk, and she was barking and carrying on. She even continued to bark as we went down the stairs to go outside. This seemed strange to me because she is a quiet, laid-back dog. I decided it must be because she had been in her crate. She got back to her normal self as we took our walk.
When we were heading back into the building to go to her apartment, she started acting different again. She was in a hurry to get back home. She was even crying in the elevator ride back up to the apartment floor and was almost running down the hallway back to her home. When I opened the door, I found out that her mom wasn't sleeping. It turns out that she had been out to dinner. Obviously Murphy knew that she had come back home while we were out.
I don't know if this has ever happened to you, but I had to share this story. It is amazing to see how much love dogs have for their owners, and how they know you are back home, even when they didn't see you come back.
