Pet Type and Name:  English Bulldogs – Holly, Minnie and Maddie

Q: Do you talk to your pets? If so, what do you talk about? What do they say back?

Yes. I am usually asking them if they are allowed to do whatever they are doing (which they aren’t). They don’t talk back. They just look at me and give me attitude/stink eye.

Q: Imagine your pet as a human? What do they do for a living? What is their personality like?

Holly would be a housewife or a daycare operator. Minnie definitely a lazy teenager. Maddison an annoying telemarketer that is ALWAYS happy.

Q: Is there a life lesson that you have learned from your pet?

Holly – be patient, gentle and loving. Minnie – cuddle, be laid back and relax. Maddie – always have fun, even if it gets you in trouble.

Q: To you, what does it mean to be a responsible pet owner?

They are my kids and I love them as such.

Q: How have your pets changed your life?

I have always had dogs, but these three (along with Daisy, my first bulldog, who is deceased) have all rescued me. Holly and Daisy got me thru two open heart surgeries and losing my mother. I went into a deep depression, but they kept me going. When Daisy passed in my arms, it crushed me. Minnie and Maddie taught me how to love again.

Q: Share a local resource for pets of any type that more people should utilize.

Kittanning Vet Hospital, Dr. Lash and Associates. They are farm vets, but are extremely reasonable in price, and very loving to my girls. The vets will get down on the floor and hug and kiss on the dogs. The office staff take the girls back to say hi to everyone when I take them in. They are a great group of people.
